Lead Quality, Compliance, Sustainability & Data in a Growing Manufacturing Business. We are recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing business for a Compliance, Data & Sustainability Manager to take ownership of a broad and influential remit covering quality, health & safety, environmental sustainability, product compliance and product data management. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, this is a key role within the business, working across Technical, Operations, Marketing, Sales, Customer Services and Supply Chain.

The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the business remains compliant, data-driven and operationally effective, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting its long-term sustainability objectives.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality, Compliance, Technical, Sustainability or Data professional who enjoys working across multiple areas of a business and wants a role with genuine ownership and influence. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the company's ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems, overseeing product and regulatory compliance, managing product data and PIM systems, and ensuring accurate California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) information is maintained. You will also oversee the outsourced Health & Safety function, ensuring appropriate standards, actions and compliance are effectively managed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Maintain ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Drive continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventative actions.
  • Monitor quality, environmental, sustainability and operational KPIs.
  • Provide oversight of outsourced Health & Safety activities and ensure appropriate legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement sustainability and environmental improvement initiatives.
  • Support carbon reduction, waste reduction, energy efficiency and wider ESG objectives.
  • Manage product compliance and regulatory requirements across UK and international markets.
  • Oversee CE and UKCA compliance, technical documentation, declarations and supporting evidence.
  • Monitor changes to legislation and standards and ensure the business responds appropriately.
  • Own and maintain Prop 65 data, ensuring product information is accurate, current and correctly communicated.
  • Own and manage the company's PIM system, ensuring product information is accurate, complete and consistent.
  • Establish effective data governance and product data quality standards.
  • Ensure consistency between PIM, ERP and other business systems.
  • Develop meaningful dashboards, reports and KPIs to support senior management decision-making.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities through effective data analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with Technical, Marketing, Sales, Customer Services, Operations and Supply Chain.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, digitalisation and process improvement.

About You

We are looking for someone with significant experience within a technical, quality, compliance, product data, manufacturing or regulated environment. You will ideally have:

  • Strong practical experience of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental management.
  • Proven continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience of product compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience managing California Proposition 65 (Prop 65) data.
  • Experience with PIM, ERP or product information systems.
  • Strong data management, validation and governance skills.
  • Experience using KPIs and business data to drive improvement.
  • Knowledge of CE / UKCA requirements.
  • Experience working with multiple departments and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong project and change management capability.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and analytical skills.
  • The confidence to work with senior stakeholders, customers, suppliers, auditors and external bodies.

Desirable Experience

The following would be advantageous:

  • SYSPRO experience particularly significant advantage.
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification.
  • ISO 14001 qualification or experience.
  • Sustainability, ESG or environmental leadership.
  • Supplier auditing.
  • Lean Manufacturing / continuous improvement.
  • Digital transformation and process automation.
  • Experience managing ERP-based product master data.
  • Experience working with PIM systems.
  • Multi-site manufacturing experience.
