The Area Consult Manager is responsible for driving product specification and securing project opportunities across the Central region, covering Birmingham, Bristol, and Cardiff. The role focuses on influencing architects, specifiers, main contractors, and fabricators to ensure products are specified at design stage and successfully tracked through to order. The position requires strong commercial awareness, disciplined project tracking, and effective relationship management to achieve agreed sales targets and deliver regional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure product specification with architects, consultants, and specifiers across the Central region.
- Proactively track projects from early concept and design stage through to order placement.
- Target and engage main contractors to secure open specification projects.
- Identify and support ongoing project opportunities for approved fabricators nationwide.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships within the construction, architectural, and contractor sectors.
Market Knowledge
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regional market conditions and project pipelines.
- Monitor competitor activity and understand competing product offerings.
- Develop a thorough understanding of both existing and prospective customers within the region.
- Recognise regional variations in product suitability and specification requirements.
- Provide regular feedback to the business on market intelligence, trends, and opportunities.
Administration
- Maintain accurate and current customer and project records within the CRM system.
- Log and manage customer correspondence and project tracking information.
- Submit weekly activity plans and call reports on time (by close of business Friday).
- Submit monthly reports on time (by the 4th of each month).
- Ensure availability of relevant sales and presentation materials.
- Maintain high professional standards including punctuality, smart appearance, and professional vehicle presentation.
