BACKGROUND TO THE POST
Warwickshire College Group works in Partnership with the King’s Trust to deliver training to young people enrolled on the King’s Trust Team Programme. This provision is offered across Coventry, Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Worcestershire and Birmingham according to demographic need. The post will be based in Warwickshire. The Co-ordinator will provide the essential link between student and team activities and prescribed College and King’s Trust systems, requirements and quality assurance. The post holder will also line manage a team of King’s Trust Team Leaders to ensure the appropriate marketing, recruitment, delivery, development, review and evaluation of the King’s Trust Team programme within the College.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Co-ordinate the King’s Trust Team provision at agreed delivery locations reporting to the Head of School.
- Provide line management, support and leadership and guidance for Team Leaders/Assistant Team Leaders.
- Develop, implement and evaluate an effective recruitment and marketing process.
- Conduct follow-up surveys with students completing programmes.
- Oversee enrolments to ensure financial viability for each programme.
- Manage, monitor and review retention and achievement rates to ensure success rate targets are met.
- Utilise the College’s internal quality systems are kept up-to-date to indicate potential and/or actual student issues.
- Ensure all funding requirements are accurately and efficiently maintained.
- Set agreed dates for team starts annually and book Residential and other activities in advance of team starts.
- Prepare internal and external reports for management purposes, including the curriculum area SAR and improvement plans as requested by the Head of School.
- Comply with College and King’s Trust Quality Systems with specific reference to: Internal Verification, support Initial Assessment and Management & Curriculum responsibilities.
- Contribute to the College’s wider Re-engagement provision with the purpose of widening participation.
- Conduct regular team meetings for evaluation, review and assessment, with the whole team and on an individual basis.
- Assist with the recruitment of the King’s Trust Team Leaders including liaison with appropriate external bodies as required.
- Oversee Health and Safety responsibilities and duties within the King’s Trust Team area and ensure compliance with the College and King’s Trust Health and Safety regulations.
- Work with line manager to identify training needs and actively seek out and participate in relevant training and development opportunities in liaison with the Staff Development Officer and Line Manager.
- Ensure the College’s Equal Opportunities Policy is encompassed within all aspects of work.
- Lead and provide team building training days and provide a positive role model for Team Leaders.
- Keep the intranet and College website updated.
- Cover Team Leaders as needed in their absence.
- Support Team Leaders by participating in all residentials.
- To ensure a safe working environment for colleagues, students and visitors in line with the HASAW Act and the College Health and Safety Policy.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and whom you come into contact with.
- To attend college delivered ‘Teaching Essentials’ training.

Essential Attainments
- Educated to a minimum of Level 3 Good general education including GCSE A-C grades in English and Maths or Equivalent (For example, L2 Functional skills English & maths).
- A nationally recognised teaching qualification or willingness to gain the Certificate in Education and Training.
- Experience of working effectively with Young people with challenging behaviours and those not in education, training or employment.
- Experience of planning, organising and completing practical projects.
- Experience of working effectively with groups of young adults.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and team building skills.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, including report writing skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Knowledge of the local community, its voluntary organisations and agencies.
- Working knowledge of information technology such as e-mail, the internet and other software applications.
- A driving licence free of major endorsements and the use of a motor vehicle/or the ability to find alternative means of travel to attend business related activities that would satisfy the recruiting panel.
