Maths Lecturer - CS12192 in Leek Wootton

Responsibilities

• Teaching – contribute to the teaching programme and deliver the subject.
• Preparation and Assessment – develop and produce teaching materials and the relevant paperwork for planning and assessing the course; undertake assessment, produce a relevant scheme and keep accurate records.
• Administration – undertake administrative tasks relating to the programme(s) taught and college requirements, under the guidance of the Head of Department.
• Quality Systems – undertake internal verification as required by the line manager; participate in the college’s lesson observation process and have an observed lesson each academic year.
• Health and Safety – ensure a safe working environment for colleagues, students and visitors in line with the HASAW Act and the College Health and Safety Policy.
• Safeguarding – safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults for whom you are responsible and whom you come into contact with.
• Exam Invigilator – support during busy exam periods; the college will provide training.

Qualifications

• A degree in Maths or related disciplines such as Engineering.
• GCSE grade A–C or equivalent qualification in Maths and English.
• Teacher Training Qualification or willingness to undertake the courses required to gain one.
• Experience of teaching GCSE and FS Maths, preferably in Further Education.
• Strong administrative skills, including IT proficiency.
• Willingness to undertake continuing professional development and maintain CPD records and industry‑specific skills on an annual basis.
• Enhanced DBS check, occupational health clearance, understanding of safeguarding and the ability to comply with regulated activity requirements.

Salary and Working Hours

Pro rata salary: £11,136.40 – £15,568.80 per annum. The schedule is Tuesday and Wednesday morning at Warwick Trident and Thursday at Moreton Morrell, requiring travel between campuses.

Checks and Conditions

Conditional offer of work will be made, subject to mandatory pre‑employment checks including an Enhanced DBS check, Barred List check, right‑to‑work check, internet search, TRA check for academic posts and occupational health clearance. Training will be provided for exam invigilator duties.
