Responsibilities
- Drive improvements as part of continuous improvement culture.
- Work in a safe manner in line with the company’s Health and Safety policy.
- Maintain working area to a good standard as part of 5S.
- Ensure quality is maintained and follow processes for area to company standards.
- Carry out tasks in accordance with set process times to meet deadlines.
- Have a flexible approach and at times move onto other disciplines within skill set.
- Help with skills flex training and cross‑train others when required.
Qualifications
- GCSE/O Level or equivalent.
- Apprentice served.
- 5 years (min) engineering experience within the manufacturing industry (apprentice trained).
- 5 years (min) CNC machining experience.
- Milling and turning experience preferred.
- CI experience (Lean 8 wastes).
- Safety/5S work ethic.
- Computer literate (Microsoft).
- Experience working in an engineering environment.
- Previous experience of setting/operating Mazak machines.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Ability to read CNC code, ISO (G code)/Mazatrol.
- Offline programming experience Edgecam/Mastercam/Mazatrol – advantageous.
- Understanding of turning and milling techniques.
- Ability to problem‑solve.
- Understand health & safety environment/procedures.
- Good communicator with all levels of business (written & verbal).
- Hands‑on approach with a strong work ethic.
