Responsibilities
- Drive improvements as part of continuous improvement culture
- Work in a safe manner in line with the company’s Health and Safety policy
- Maintain working area to a good standard as part of 5S
- Ensure quality is maintained and follow processes for area to company standards
- Carry out tasks in accordance with set process times to meet deadlines
- Have a flexible approach and at times move onto other disciplines within skill set
- Help with skills flex training and cross‑train others when required
Qualifications
- GCSE/O Level or equivalent
- Apprentice served
- 5 years (min) engineering experience within the manufacturing industry (apprentice trained)
- 5 years (min) CNC machining experience
- Milling and turning experience preferred
- CI experience (Lean 8 wastes)
- Safety/5S work ethic
- Computer literate (Microsoft)
- Experience working in an engineering environment
- Previous experience of setting/operating Mazak machines
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Ability to read CNC code, ISO (G code)/Mazatrol
- Offline programming experience Edgecam/Mastercam/Mazatrol – advantageous
- Understanding of turning and milling techniques
- Ability to problem‑solve
