CNC Machinist – Havant, UK.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements as part of continuous improvement culture
  • Work in a safe manner in line with the company’s Health and Safety policy
  • Maintain working area to a good standard as part of 5S
  • Ensure quality is maintained and follow processes for area to company standards
  • Carry out tasks in accordance with set process times to meet deadlines
  • Have a flexible approach and at times move onto other disciplines within skill set
  • Help with skills flex training and cross‑train others when required

Qualifications

  • GCSE/O Level or equivalent
  • Apprentice served
  • 5 years (min) engineering experience within the manufacturing industry (apprentice trained)
  • 5 years (min) CNC machining experience
  • Milling and turning experience preferred
  • CI experience (Lean 8 wastes)
  • Safety/5S work ethic
  • Computer literate (Microsoft)
  • Experience working in an engineering environment
  • Previous experience of setting/operating Mazak machines
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Ability to read CNC code, ISO (G code)/Mazatrol
  • Offline programming experience Edgecam/Mastercam/Mazatrol – advantageous
  • Understanding of turning and milling techniques
  • Ability to problem‑solve
