Location: Glasgow workshop. The role reports to the Workshop Foreman Propulsion and is full‑time.
What you will do:
- Operate manual machining equipment to parts and components according to specifications.
- Prepare products for machining by cleaning and masking as required.
- Inspect machined parts for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including process parameters, materials used, and inspection results.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role:
- Technical or vocational training in a related field and/or metal working is welcome.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to use manual machines, such as lathes, mills or horizontal borers.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
