Key Responsibilities
- Software Development & Engineering: Oversee the design, development, and deployment of advanced software solutions for energy storage management, including monitoring, optimization, and control. Collaborate with software and hardware teams to create integrated, scalable solutions that enhance system performance and energy efficiency. Ensure software solutions adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Automation & Control Systems: Design, implement, and optimize GEMS solutions for customer projects. Ensure the continuous improvement of control algorithms and automation processes for maximum operational efficiency and reliability.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, operations, and lifecycle support teams to ensure seamless application integration. Collaborate with stakeholders to define application requirements, identify key performance indicators, and design solutions that meet customer needs.
- Quality Assurance & Optimization: Execute testing, debugging, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure optimal functionality of software, automation, and control systems. Continuously monitor system performance and implement improvements for scalability, security, and user experience.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership position (expertise leader, not people management) within the energy storage, renewable energy, or industrial control systems sector. Proven experience in software development for industrial applications, with a strong background in control systems, automation, and software integration. Extensive experience with SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS, and other industrial control systems. Strong knowledge of energy storage technologies (e.g., lithium-ion batteries, flow batteries, etc.) and energy management systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Java, or similar. Expertise in industrial automation platforms (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, ABB, Rockwell). Familiarity with data analytics, cloud computing, and AI/ML for predictive maintenance and optimization of energy systems. Understanding of communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, MQTT, and REST APIs. Solid knowledge of cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems and software.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Problem-solving mindset and the ability to handle complex, high-stakes challenges. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with energy management software or battery management systems (BMS). Knowledge of energy market regulations and compliance standards. Experience in system integration and managing large-scale energy storage projects. Familiarity with machine learning applications for predictive analytics in energy storage systems.
