We are now looking for a CNC Machinist - Night Shift to join our team working for a better future. The location for the position is in Havant, Portsmouth, UK.
What you will be doing
- Drive improvements as part of continuous improvement culture
- Working in a safe manner in line with the companies Health and Safety policy
- Maintain working area to a good standard as part of 5S
- Ensure quality is maintained and follow processes for area to company standards
- Carry out tasks in accordance with set process times to meet deadlines
- Have a flexible approach and at times move onto other disciplines within skill set
- Help with skills flex training and cross train others when required.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Experience of working in an Engineering environment.
- Previous experience of setting/operating Mazak machines
- Ability to read Engineering Drawings
- Ability to read CNC code, ISO (G code) / Mazatrol Offline Programming Experience
- Edgecam/Mastercam/Mazatrol - advantageous
- Ideally Apprentice served
- Understanding of Turning and Milling techniques
- Ability to problem solve
- Understand Health and Safety environment/procedures
- Read and understand Engineering drawings
- Good communicator with all levels of business (written & verbal)
- Hands on approach with a strong work ethic
Education: GCSE/O Level or equivalent. Apprentice served
Experience: 5 years (min) Engineering experience within the manufacturing industry. (Apprentice Trained) 5 years (min) CNC machining experience Milling and turning experience preferred CI experience (Lean 8 wastes). Safety / 5S work ethic. Computer Literate (Microsoft)
