Water and Waste business unit (WAW) is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. WAW has the industry’s broadest product offering to secure beyond compliant operations for our marine customers.
We have now a unique and exciting opportunity as we approach divestment to become a standalone entity for a Graduate Design Engineer for the Wartsila Water Systems Ltd business, based in UK, Poole, Dorset. You will add value to our engineering activity as you step your career towards a Design Engineer position. This role would suit a graduate engineer that has some experience in a similar role and is working towards the next opportunity.
Working primarily from our offices in Poole where we operate a hybrid (3 office, 2 working from home pattern), you will be mentored and guided by our internal engineer teams and technical leads to gain a solid understanding and broad exposure to our engineering operations.
Main responsibilities:
- Produce drawings, Bills of Material and documentation for Conventional Waste projects.
- Support Design Engineers on complex Advanced Waste and R&D projects.
- Support product owners with maintenance of the product portfolio.
Requirements:
- Must have experience of working in AutoCAD 2D.
- Experience of working in Autodesk Inventor 3D (or similar).
- HNC/HND in engineering as a minimum, B.Eng is advantageous.
