We are now looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join our team working for a better future. The position is permanent, and the preferred location is Havant. This role requires sufficient SC clearance or ability to obtain sufficient SC clearance.
What you will be doing
- As Mechanical Assembler, you will play a key role in carrying out mechanical assembly and testing of precision‑engineered components and systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Assemble mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Perform functional and pressure testing of assembled units using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Identify and report any non‑conformances or defects during assembly or testing.
- Maintain accurate records of build and test results, including traceability documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the cell and wider production environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Apprenticeship in mechanical fitting or similar is advantageous.
- Additional certifications in pressure testing or lifting operations (e.g., LOLER) are a plus.
Working Conditions
- Workshop‑based role with occasional lifting and manual handling.
- PPE must be worn at all times.
- May require occasional overtime or shift work depending on project demands.
