About the Role

The employer is seeking a reliable, patient, and flexible Personal Care Assistant to support a 10-year-old boy with autism and learning difficulties. He is a happy child who enjoys physical activities such as swimming, walks in wooded areas, using a trampoline, and playing on swings. The child is non-verbal but can use some single words when prompted. He has limited awareness of safety, particularly near roads, and therefore requires constant supervision. He must not be left unattended when out in the community.

Main Duties

  • Supporting the development of independence skills and safety awareness in the community
  • Escorting him on outings and supporting participation in social and leisure activities

Personal Requirements

  • Experience working with non-verbal children with autism preferable
  • Physically fit and able to always ensure the child’s safety
  • Full driving licence and access to a car preferable

Further Information

  • A probationary period will apply to the successful applicant
  • The successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (free of charge)
