Hours of Work
- 2 hours per week, usually on weekends (Saturday or Sunday, approximately 10:00am–12:00 noon) and during school holidays.
- Occasional hours on Tuesdays after school (from approximately 5:45pm) to support the child at the Youth Zone in Warrington.
- Exact working hours will be discussed at interview with the employer.
About the Role
A Personal Care Assistant is required to provide personal and practical support for a 10-year-old child with autism, helping him to access social and leisure activities within the community.
Main Duties
- Prompting and supporting with personal care tasks, including supervision when using the toilet and adjusting clothing.
- Escorting to events and outings.
• Supporting participation in social and leisure activities
- Walking
- Visiting parks and play areas
- Trips to zoos and farms
- Visiting cafés
Person Specification
- Car owner/driver essential – must use their own vehicle for work purposes and ensure appropriate business insurance cover.
- Experience working with children with autism is essential.
- Awareness that the child has no sense of danger outdoors.
- Does not travel by bus due to sensitivity to noise.
