Personal Assistant – DP/DH09
Location: South Warrington
Hours: 4 per week (outside school hours – after school, weekends, holidays)
Pay: £12.60/hour
About the Role
Personal Care Assistant is required to support a child with Autism, ADHD, and epilepsy at home and to access social and leisure activities.
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and proactive Personal Assistant to provide one‑on‑one support to a bright and energetic 9‑year‑old with autism, ADHD, and epilepsy.
This role requires someone with experience in neurodiversity, who can foster a safe, structured, and engaging environment for the child to thrive emotionally, socially, and developmentally.
It is the job of the Personal Assistant to assist with a variety of tasks to enable the child to lead an independent life in their own home and in the community.
By working under the direct supervision of their employer the Personal Assistant is responsible for carrying out their instructions to help the child with their day‑to‑day support needs.
The Personal Assistant does not have to be a strong person physically to do the job well. However, general good health is important.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the child in taking part in community‑based activities such as clubs, museum visits, sports, or nature outings
- Anticipate and manage sensory needs or overstimulation during outings
- Foster independence by encouraging choice, autonomy, and self‑confidence in social settings
- Prepare for outings by collaborating on plans, practicing transitions, and building familiarity with environments
- Support to learn independent living skills
- All needs will vary daily, and it is important that the Personal Assistant is flexible and agrees to undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested
Requirements
- Car owner with business insurance
- Experience in similar roles
- Flexible, respectful, trustworthy, patient
- Good communicator with a sense of humour
