Schedule: One hour on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, 4pm–5pm (day to be agreed at interview); Thursday, 4pm–6pm; Friday, 4pm–6pm
About the Role
This position is open to women only, as permitted under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. The client needs a female Personal Care Assistant because there are times when the client may be undressed (e.g., during swimming‑pool assistance). A female worker is required to maintain the client’s dignity, comfort, and privacy, in line with the client’s personal preferences. The role involves supporting a vulnerable lady, so the ideal candidate will be patient, compassionate, calm, friendly, and trustworthy. The client will teach on her condition, including severe OCD and PTSD. A driving licence and access to a reliable car are essential, as driving is a key part of the role. The candidate must also like cats and be willing to drive them to vet appointments (a pet carrier is provided).
Main Duties
- Supporting with shopping, for both food and clothes
- Assisting with physical activities (taking to the swimming pool)
- Assisting with the care of household pets, including transport to vet visits
Requirements
- Driver/car owner (business insurance required if using own vehicle)
- Enhanced DBS check (free of charge)
- Probationary period applies
