Warrington Primary Academy Trust is seeking an exceptional practitioner to support our Director of Education and SEND team across a number of our Primary schools within WPAT. The purpose of the post is to act as SENDCo across individual schools and deliver project work across the Trust.

WPAT was established in May 2016, when three Warrington primary schools formed a Multi‑Academy Trust. We are a converter academy led by educational professionals, with a total of nine academies in our network, and a pipeline of new members forecast. Our academies are currently from three authority areas, being Warrington, Halton and Cheshire West & Chester.

This embodies our collective purpose and how we achieve our aims as a community. As the first Multi‑Academy Trust to form in Warrington, we have forged an expectation of excellence in all that we do. At WPAT, we are focussed on the individual progress and aspirations of all our young people, particularly with regards to SEND and ensuring that standards of achievement, and teaching and learning across the MAT are of the highest quality and that schools joining the trust are fully supported. At the start of this year, we were commended by the Secretary of State on our excellent outcomes for our disadvantaged pupils, placing us among the very best of schools nationally.

As SENDCo, you will be joining a hard‑working and dedicated school improvement team who care passionately about improving the life chances of our young people across the Trust.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have qualified teacher status
  • Hold the National Award for SEN Co‑ordination (NASENCo/NPQSEN) or willingness to complete within an agreed timeframe
  • Have demonstrable and significant experience working with pupils with SEND across one or more key stages
  • Be passionate about inclusion and champion for all pupils with SEND and be an advocate for our vulnerable young people
  • Have to meet the person specification criteria

You will be joining our Trust at an exciting part of our journey, where we continue to build on the incredible work within our schools and further enhance the capacity and capabilities of our Trust, including opportunities to contribute to trust‑wide and system leadership work; for example, through the Trust’s networks and the externally focused professional development hubs.
