Alderman Bolton Primary Academy is looking to appoint a reliable, caring and enthusiastic Midday Assistant to join our friendly team and help provide a safe, positive and enjoyable lunchtime experience for our children.
The post is Grade 2, SCP 3, working 6.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time. The successful candidate will work 1 hour 15 minutes each day, with working hours between 11.30am and 1.30pm. This is a fixed-term contract until 31st July 2027, with a start date of December 2026.
The successful candidate will support the care and supervision of children during the lunchtime period, working across the dining hall, playground and other areas of the school as required. The role will include supervising children during lunch, promoting good manners and positive behaviour, supporting children at mealtimes where needed, and encouraging participation in appropriate games and activities.
You will help ensure that lunchtimes are safe, inclusive and enjoyable for all children. You will be expected to actively supervise allocated areas, support children moving safely around school, provide pastoral support where appropriate and follow the school's behaviour, safeguarding, health and safety and first aid procedures. The role may also involve helping to prepare and clear the dining area, including the movement and storage of dining furniture.
We are looking for someone with good communication and interpersonal skills who has a caring, responsible and flexible approach. You should enjoy working with children, be able to work effectively as part of a team and understand the importance of reliability, punctuality and maintaining professional standards.
Previous experience of working with children or within a school environment would be desirable, although we are particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate the right attitude and commitment to supporting our children. First Aid knowledge or qualifications would also be desirable.
At Alderman Bolton Primary Academy, you will become part of a warm and welcoming school community where you can make a real difference to children's experiences each day. We are committed to supporting the development of our staff and providing opportunities for relevant training and professional development.
