The role
A rare opportunity has arisen within the Fleet team for a Vehicle and Plant Equipment Mechanic. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual, having gained relevant industry experience and holding recognised qualifications to a minimum Level 3. You will be a dedicated member of the workshop team ensuring the Councils varied fleet of vehicles and plant equipment are continuously maintained in a safe and compliant condition for all users.
What\’s needed?
You will have
- Relevant experience in a vehicle and or plant fleet maintenance operation
- Ability to develop and gain new experience in a varied fleet of vehicles and plant equipment
- Preferably IRTEC trained
- Knowledge of relevant transport and construction and use legislation
- Hold a current UK category B driving licence
- Preferably hold a current UK category C driving licence and associated DCPC qualification
- Ability and willingness to undertake training as directed by the organisation, some of which will require overnight stays
An period of opportunity for completion of agreed and funded training can be provided for the right candidate if all essential criteria in the Person Specification is not initially met.
