The Headteacher and Governing Body of Stockton Heath Primary School are looking to appoint two enthusiastic and caring SEN Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible, one to work with children with specific educational needs and one to work on a 1:1 basis with a child with specific educational needs and to support the work of the teaching staff.

Applicants must be highly motivated and committed to the highest standards of pupil achievement and upholding the caring, sharing ethos of the school.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can work collaboratively with other staff
  • Can adjust activities for the pupil they are working with to support learning styles and individual needs
  • Can communicate effectively with children, parents and other staff
  • Can develop positive relationships with children and staff to assist the progress and attainment of children
  • Has a positive approach to managing children’s behaviour
  • Has NVQ Level 2 or 3 for teaching assistants

Hours of working are flexible but ideally would be:

  • 1:1 SEN Support - Monday to Friday 10:00 - 14:15 (with half an hour lunch break)
  • SEN Support - Monday to Friday 09:00 - 14:30 (with forty five minutes lunch break)
