Teaching Assistant KS1/EYFS – Latchford St James C of E Primary School
The role
The main purpose of the TA will be to work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils. They will be expected to promote pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. They will give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so that they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
The Teaching Assistant we are looking for will:
- work alongside teachers and other support staff to support and develop the English and maths skills of our children
- be able to work as part of a whole staff team
- conform to school policies and procedures – safeguarding, welfare, health and safety and data protection
- have the ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with the pupils, parents and staff
- demonstrate strong behaviour management skills in line with school policy
- undergo any training required in order to perform relevant duties efficiently
- support the teaching of a curriculum that allows pupils to achieve and make progress
- be a patient and understanding champion of vulnerable pupils
