About us
LiveWire delivers Aquatic Programmes across five pools in Warrington, including swimming lessons to children and adults from pre-school to lessons for children 4 years and above, through to teaching adults to learn to swim, following the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework. This role will report to the Aquatics Manager and will work with a team of qualified swim teachers to support the delivery of our successful Learn to Swim Programme.
The role
LiveWire are looking for enthusiastic, motivational and supportive qualified Level 2 Swim Teachers to deliver across our Learn to Swim programme in our five pools. This may include supporting pre-school children through our Ducklings lessons, children through the core stages of Swim England\’s Learn to Swim Framework and adults learning to swim.
There are various hours available across our sites with lessons running Monday to Thursdays from approximately 4-7pm and Saturday and Sunday mornings.
What\’s needed?
Knowledge of, and experience in delivering Swim England\’s Learn to Swim Framework is essential to support the delivery of swimming lessons to a range of ages and abilities in our Learn to Swim programme. Key skills for this role include:
– The ability to give clear instructions to both participants of lessons and any support teachers assisting lessons
– Good interpersonal and communication skills and the willingness to be team player
– The ability to plan fun, engaging lessons and monitor and evaluate them regularly
– Holding a valid pool safety qualification – either a RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers or Coaches (NRASTC) and attend regular training to keep it up to date
– Being flexible – there may be times when working across different Livewire sites is required
– Knowledge of the School Swimming and Water Safety Programme KS2 National Curriculum standards as there may be times when school swimming requires cover. This knowledge will support any successful candidate to teach across any of our swimming programmes but isn\’t essential.
