The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The Housing Standards & Assistance team has 2 functions, one of which is to provide grants and loans to vulnerable people, principally through Disabled Facilities Grants, and the other is to enforce housing standards in all housing tenures. This specific post will mainly be involved with Disabled Facilities Grants and will report to the Team Manager Housing Standards.
The role
The role will involve assessing whether the proposed adaptation works are reasonable and practicable, looking at the specific property and the proposed plans and specifications of work. It will involve a mixture of site inspections and desk-based activity, communicating with clients, landlords and the home improvement agency. Checks will need to be made on documents submitted and the level of grant calculated.
What\’s needed?
The applicant must have an HNC in Construction or similar qualification, or be a qualified Environmental Health Officer and be used to inspecting properties and examining plans and specifications. Excellent communication skills are required.
