Call for people to join School Appeals Panels. Volunteers across Warrington are needed to get actively involved in hearing school appeals. Members of the public play a vital role in independent School Appeals Panels, set up to make sure the views of parents unhappy with the allocation of their child’s school and those of the Council are heard in a fair, open and impartial way.

The Council will pay for any travel expenses and train everyone that signs up to become a member of the panels. The majority of meetings are held during the day at the Town Hall; refreshments and parking are provided.

To be eligible – and to ensure every decision is fair – members of the panels must:

  • NOT be employed by the Council, unless you are a teacher
  • NOT have, or have had, any connections with the LEA or employees of the LEA, except a teacher
