As part of Benefits and Exchequer Services, an opportunity has arisen for a high calibre, motivated and customer focused person to join our Recovery Team to assist with the collection and recovery of council tax, non-domestic rates and BID Levy.

The role involves reporting directly to the Recovery Team Leader, assisting a busy team to effectively deliver Benefits & Exchequer Services that are of the highest standards, cost effective and efficient. Hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.

What’s needed?

  • An ability to handle figures and other data quickly and accurately is essential.
  • The ability to deal courteously and effectively with our customers.
  • Demonstrated capability to deal with challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.

Applicants should have:

  • Experience working within a revenues, legal, financial or debt collection establishment.
  • A good standard of education.
  • A good track record of working under pressure and achieving deadlines.
  • Previous experience of working within a debt recovery environment would be beneficial as would knowledge of council tax and non-domestic rating law.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment.
