Lymm High School is a well‑established, 11-18 comprehensive school with over 1950 students (400 in the 6th form) and exceptional resources, including 28 acres of beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey. We are a welcoming and supportive school, with a strong track record of excellent exam results both at KS4 and KS5. It is also a lovely place in which to work; in addition to good fortune with our physical surroundings, staff are exceptionally positive, committed and supportive.
The Design Technology department are a strong team who sit within the faculty of Art and Design. Design Technology is a highly valued subject and the breadth of skills are taught at KS3 (Y7 to Y9). At KS4 we offer Design Technology and 3D Design at KS5. The standard of work produced is incredible and reflects the strength of the department and skill of the students. Results have been consistently strong at both KS4 and KS5, with a progress score consistently above +1. The faculty boasts an array of facilities including 2 laser cutters, 2 traditional workshops, a CAD suite and designated sixth‑form design studio.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed team player, who has the ability to teach DT up to KS4, with an opportunity to teach at KS5 if the candidate is interested. This post would suit an ECT as well as someone who has already been teaching for a few years; we are as interested in your potential and determination to become a first‑class practitioner as we are in your experience to date.
