Meadowside Primary School is seeking two enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join our team. One role is permanent, and the other is a maternity cover. Both positions are based within our Key Stage 1 Designated Provision, where you will play a vital role in supporting children with additional needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a caring and inclusive environment, starting in September 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with and supervise individuals and groups of children under the direction of teaching or senior staff.
  • Support the implementation of the Early Years Framework and National Curriculum.
  • Enable access to learning for all pupils, including those with specific individual learning needs.
  • Promote inclusion by encouraging participation in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Assist in classroom management, resource organisation, and lesson preparation.
  • Observe and report on pupil performance to the class teacher.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to support pupil development.
  • Promote the safety and wellbeing of pupils, adhering to safeguarding policies.
We are looking for candidates who:
  • Hold a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) in supporting children.
  • Have a general understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary National Curriculum.
  • Have experience working with children with additional needs, such as ASD, ADHD, or PAD.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Are committed to their own professional development.
  • Possess good personal numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Can adapt their approach to meet the specific needs of individual pupils.
