The Role
This is a rare opportunity to lead a large and successful Maths faculty on to even greater things. We are looking for a Head of Maths confident enough to lead a faculty that already performs very well, and capable enough to make it one of the very best in the country.
Lymm High School is a well-established, 11-18 school with over 1950 students (400 in the 6th form) and exceptional resources, including 28 acres of beautiful grounds, a swimming pool, leisure complex and our own residential centre in Anglesey. We have a strong track record of excellent exam results, with a Progress 8 score of +0.71 last year and equally strong results at KS5. It is also a lovely place in which to work; staff are exceptionally positive, committed, and supportive.
The Maths faculty is one of the strongest in the school and includes many talented, dedicated teachers. Results have been consistently excellent; last year we achieved a Maths progress 8 score of 0.7, with 89% students achieving a grade of 4 or above and 42% achieving a grade 7 or above. Maths is a very popular subject at KS5, with four classes in each of Y12 and Y13, as well as Further Maths classes in both years.
There is scope for the right person to move the faculty on further over the next few years. If you are an experienced candidate with the right track record, we will ensure you have the opportunities to enable you to move into senior leadership rapidly. If you are a little less experienced but can demonstrate the talent and ambition we are looking for, then we will provide all the support you need to make your mark.
