Our Wentworth Park site has an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our friendly team on a full-time permanent basis.
Working hours: Any 5 in 7 nights, 6pm-4am.
Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum.
As a Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for effectively planning driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and drivers' hours legislation.
Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator:
- Pre Brief and Debrief of all drivers.
- Controlling equipment through sign in/out procedure, ensuring legal compliance.
- Planning driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery/collection times, updating the transport plan.
- Providing 24/7 communication Transport link with Customer Services, planning team and other depots.
- Finding the best fit solution for customer collections, adhering to collection times.
- Providing the admin team with a collection arrival schedule to maintain and achieve KPIs.
- Communicating any potential failures or changes to the original plan.
- Controlling and dissemination of site Yard(s) check information and subsequent board completion.
- Controlling agency requirements on a daily basis.
- Ensuring all accidents, incidents and near misses are logged and reported.
- Liaising and planning drivers in for meetings / courses as required.
- Adhering to vehicle and trailer service schedules as planned.
- Carrying out regular periodic trailer and vehicle census reports.
Qualifications:
- Attention to detail/accuracy.
- Planning and organising skills, high level of numeracy.
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft office packages.
- Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines.
- Able to work as part of a team or individually.
- Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
- Significant transport experience in FMCG environment.
- Customer service driven.
