Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager, The Continuous Improvement (CI) Practitioner will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Site CI plan, acting as a PMO for site whilst also supporting the Operational Excellence Strategy.
The individual will help to facilitate change activity on site to deliver Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People benefits encouraging colleague participation.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week.
Key Duties of a Continuous Improvement (CI) Practitioner
- Monitoring and supporting the delivery of the site CI plan working with site teams and Regional CI Manager(s) and broader Projects team; ensuring all site CI activity goes through the appropriate Gateways and sign off.
- Responsible for reporting progress, risks, issues and benefits relating to all site based CI and Project activity (Project Management Office, PMO).
- Work with site colleagues to identify opportunities to deliver improvements to health and safety, quality, cost, service and engagement which will feed into the site CI plan (supported by the Regional CI Manager).
- Track and report on benefits identified and realised locally at site; support more effective site resource planning to further realise bottom line improvement working with the site Planning and Senior teams.
- Lead the delivery of small projects to unlock benefit.
- Support the upskilling & coaching of colleagues on site to understand basic CI, problem solving and work stream management.
- Support major system change on site where required working with the Site Systems Super user i. e. facilitation of requirements gathering, process mapping, problem solving.
- Support the gathering of data where required for diagnostics, solution design and benefits tracking, working with the Site Systems Super user &Regional CI Manager.
- Support the delivery and governance of new operational processes that ensures sustainment of any change implemented i. e.
Visual Mgt, Auditing, Feedback sessions, updating & maintenance of SOPs.
- Work with the site Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator and Senior teams to keep colleagues up to date with all change and CI activity via the delivery of an agreed site communication strategy and plan.
- Support senior stakeholder engagement.
- Support the delivery of the business wide Change and CI strategy working with the Central Projects and CI team and other CI Practitioners i. e.
Diagnostic activity, sharing of good practice, role modelling the right behaviours.
Qualifications
- Aware of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous experience of being involved or leading elements of a project i. e. basic Project Management tools and techniques.
- Presentation skills and ability to deliver training.
- Some knowledge of IT systems for example M-Type, SCE, TMS, Info view ideal.
- Data Analysis & solution design.
- MS proficient (i. e. Excel, PPT, Word, Teams, BI).
- Experience of working closely with operations and developing effective working relationships.
- Experience of implementing change in a challenging environment.
- Experience of working in a project environment and of improvement activity.
