The Role:
As an Area Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing multiple stores, ensuring operational excellence, driving performance and maintaining brand standards. You’ll lead and develop store teams, manage resources effectively and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll be expected to role model the behaviours and standards expected across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support multiple store teams to deliver excellent service and operational standards
- Motivate teams to delight customers and consistently meet high standards
- Build high-performance teams through regular coaching, training and skill development
- Manage performance, absence, and conduct across your area
- Deliver against key performance indicators (KPIs) including sales, service and compliance
- Ensure stores meet cleanliness, food safety, and health & safety standards
- Drive succession planning and people development across your teams
- Manage change initiatives and support business growth
- Adhere to company policies, including managing performance when required
About You:
- Experience in a multi‑site managerial role
- Proven track record in developing leadership teams and succession planning
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to role model expected behaviours
- Experience in managing business operations including financials, stock control, and compliance
- Able to work at pace and adapt to changing demands
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
Role Requirements:
This role involves regular travel between stores, periods of standing, lifting and carrying items and working in both warm and cold environments. You may also occasionally work outdoors (e.g. for deliveries or waste disposal). It also involves regular weekend and evening work.
