Your New Role... Based in our London Bureau the People & Culture (P&C) Coordinator will be instrumental in supporting the CNN International and the CNN International Commercial teams across EMEA. They will be involved in supporting the team on a variety of administrative and operational activities working in partnership with the business and broader P&C teams across the organisation. This is a great entry level generalist role and will need someone who is organised, focused and who can deliver a professional HR service in a fast‑paced environment.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • First Line Support: Act as first line P&C support for all CNN / CNNIC employee queries (directing them to specific teams as appropriate) including meeting with employees if they require further assistance or clarification on various topics such as onboarding, benefits, leave of absence, company policies etc.
  • Partnership: Working closely with our internal Employee Connection team on responding to general queries (includes payroll, benefits, policies, workday profile/access, letters/contracts, promotion/salary increase confirmations, etc.); tracking and follow‑up of outstanding actions; monitor fixed term contracts, participate in regular calls with internal teams as required.
  • Onboarding and Offboarding: Liaise with central teams for new joiners & leavers; send out monthly staff movement updates to relevant teams, assist with requests for access cards with security as required.
  • Employee Relations: Note‑taking for specific meetings and assist with meeting scheduling, letters, severance calculations, outplacement initiation (liaising with internal teams as required).
  • Recruitment: Position management (e.g., monitor open positions, create new positions, request to close positions); create new job requisitions on workday; tracking recruitment status; managing job descriptions; requesting benchmarking data from Centres of Excellence and working closely with the talent acquisition (TA) team; liaise with Early Careers and local office support assistants in hiring of interns.
  • Freelancers: Provide support to managers for all freelancer engagements and ensure contracts are in place where required.
  • Project Support: Support with projects as required, such as annual comp data validation, career banding, salary benchmarking review, CNN workplace page, CNN digital newsletter, P&C SharePoint pages, setting up of new entities, inclusion projects.
  • Immigration & Relocation: Work with external provider/legal/global mobility and assist with visa applications and relocation submissions and monitoring the visa tracker (right to work).
  • Other General Admin: Ad hoc letters and tenancy references or other general action items that cannot be dealt with via central team; liaise with L&D team for any learning/training queries as needed; occupational health submissions as required; help download/create/manage reports; create org charts; assist with work experience student placements ensuring NDAs/ workplace assessments are covered as applicable.

Qualifications & Experience...

  • A demonstrable strong interest in HR either through studies or hands on experience.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with strong organisation skills and follow‑up.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience balancing multiple deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Good level of proficiency with Word and Excel; PowerPoint useful.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Ability to also work independently and as part of a broader team.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work; strong willingness to learn and get involved with duties outside of day‑to‑day job description.
  • Must be discreet, diplomatic and able to manage highly confidential information.
  • Experience with Workday or other HCM systems is desirable.
  • Beneficial to have an interest in a fast‑paced media/news environment.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in‑office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
