A leading global professional services firm is seeking a Director to join its Deal Strategy team in London, with a strong focus on the Media and Entertainment sector. This is a key senior hire within a growing and entrepreneurial practice, working at the forefront of high-impact transactions across the full deal lifecycle.
The Role
You will lead and deliver high-impact commercial due diligence, M&A strategy and value creation engagements across the Media landscape. Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will own engagements end-to-end, from initial structuring through to delivery of client-ready outputs. You will manage teams across multiple workstreams, combining investor-grade analytical rigour with senior stakeholder engagement and clear, evidence-based communication. The role carries significant business development responsibility, with an expectation to independently originate opportunities, lead proposals and convert these into client mandates.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and lead deal strategy engagements end-to-end, including commercial due diligence, M&A strategy and value creation assignments.
- Own and develop senior client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to corporates and private equity investors.
- Drive business development activity, including identifying opportunities, leading proposals and converting these into revenue.
- Present and challenge senior stakeholders, confidently communicating findings and shaping client thinking.
- Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, go-to-market propositions and cross-firm collaboration.
Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in deal strategy, gained within a leading professional services firm.
- Proven ability to lead large and complex engagements independently, with strong experience operating in investor-led environments.
- Direct experience advising clients within the media and entertainment sector, with a well-developed perspective on content, advertising and distribution models, key value drivers and investment themes.
- Demonstrable track record of business development, including proactively identifying opportunities, leading proposals and personally contributing to revenue generation.
- Proven ability to lead, develop and inspire teams, building followership and delivering through others.
