Exciting opportunity for a sole Accountant at Screenbound, owner managed SME, with a financial turnover circa £2 million; where you will be responsible for the whole finance function from Ledgers, through to Management Accounts reporting, budget setting and presenting to the MD/ Owner/ Board.

Founded in 2003, Screenbound has grown an international sales arm providing sales and distribution services for producers worldwide, representing content across major global film and television markets such as Cannes, Berlin, Hong Kong and AFM in Los Angeles. Alongside this, Screenbound Pictures distributes content throughout the UK, whilst Screenbound Productions develops and produces feature films and television content for clients around the world.

The Opportunity
This opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of the current company Accountant. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful Accountant will take ownership of the day to day finance function, providing accurate financial information, maintaining strong financial controls and supporting business decision making across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant seeking a varied and autonomous role within a creative and internationally focused business.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Cash flow forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting
- Managing sales ledger and purchase ledger activities
- Supplier payments, customer invoicing and credit control
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns
- Supporting year end accounts preparation and audit requirements
- Quarterly royalty statements and accounts reporting to film producers
- Administration of withholding tax and overseas tax documentation
- Monitoring project budgets, purchase orders and contractual income
- Supporting royalty reporting and multi-currency transactions
- Processing employee expenses
- Providing financial insights and reporting to the Managing Director
About You
- Previous experience as an Accountant, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or in a similar hands on finance role
- AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifications, either completed or in progress
- Qualified by Experience (QBE) applicants with relevant experience
- Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills
- Excellent understanding of VAT, reconciliations and financial controls
- Experience managing a broad finance workload independently
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships
Package
- Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week (potential to be 30 hours per week, if you are looking for reduced hours (please note the salary will be pro-rata))
