The Global Catalogue Growth & Insights team uses data & insights to help define and shape the strategy for growing audiences across all of WMG’s Off-Roster Catalog. We work with Artist Brand Managers, Artists themselves and their management teams to communicate opportunities for increasing engagement amongst their current fans, as well as highlighting ways to reach new potential fans.
Your role: The Director, Artist Insights & Strategy will lead on the analysis and interpretation of research data, to uncover insights to define the strategic direction of our rich Global Catalogue and extend the legacy and success of our most iconic artists. You’ll help drive high-impact, research-driven projects from conception to completion, translating complex cultural, audience and consumption insights into actionable, tangible strategies for growing engagement.
Here you’ll get to:
- Architect and lead the global insights strategy for our entire catalogue.
- Proactively identify opportunities to reintroduce classic works to new generations through innovative content, partnerships, and campaigns.
- Build engaging, narrative led presentations to identify & communicate opportunities and strategies for growing an artist’s audience.
- Working closely with our Business Intelligence & Strategy team, you will weave quantitative and qualitative data into engaging stories, helping translate insights into longer term artist strategies.
- Serve as the primary insights partner for artists, estates, and their management teams.
- Partner with internal Artist Brand Managers to help guide, advise and build longer term artist strategies to ensure legacies are protected for generations to come.
About you:
- Progressive experience in a senior qualitative data, or strategy role, with a strong focus on the music or entertainment industry.
- Exceptional analytical skills: a knack for translating complex cultural & audience data (quant & qual) into clear, tangible business recommendations, using compelling narratives.
- Experience with various data collection methods and the reliability of each.
- Experience with client facing roles and communicating with a diverse range of senior internal & external stakeholders.
We’d love it if you also had:
- Experience in working with brands, building strategies for growing reach & long-term engagement.
- Music Industry experience.
- Background in Marketing to understand levers and their impacts in different scenarios.
