Your New Role
This position will require an experienced transactional paralegal to provide paralegal support to the international Legal, Technology and Commercial legal team. This team provides legal services and support to WBD’s international businesses.
The primary areas supported by the Legal, Technology and Commercial legal team include the enterprise, broadcast and DTC technologies for WBD’s business, channels and platforms, as well as a number of other general corporate and commercial activities across the group, including the P&C and finance functions, M&A activities and the international sports business.
This position will be a key member of the team, working closely with legal colleagues and business stakeholders.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Assisting the activities of the international Legal, Technology and Commercial legal team across a variety of technology and other transactional agreements, which will include drafting, negotiating and contract management. The types of documentation regularly encountered include, master services agreements, SAAS or software licence or development agreements, professional services and consulting agreements, support agreements, production services, orders and statements of work, non-disclosure agreements, amendments and renewals.
- Assisting the team with the creation of contract templates.
- Working directly with internal clients, legal and corporate colleagues and vendors and their legal counsel.
- Assisting the team with project based workstreams, including global intra-group arrangements, M&A activities, or business line lead initiatives such as HBO Max launches.
- Other activities based on business needs and responsibilities as assigned, or as may evolve over time
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of experience.
- Preferably with both private practice and in-house experience
- Technology and/ or media and entertainment industry experience preferred.
- BA/BS degree required
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- Must have excellent organisational, interpersonal, IT analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills with strong attention to detail, as well as the ability to manage client demands appropriately and work in a fast-paced environment where meeting deadlines is priority and handling multiple matters simultaneously is the norm
- Must be proactive and have strong initiative and the ability to work autonomously, but remain a strong, supportive, and collaborative member of the team
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, communicating directly with clients and counsel
- Knowledge of iManage preferred
Hybrid Working – This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
