Your New Role
Rocksteady Studios is seeking an exceptionally talented People and Culture Director to join our team for a maternity cover. The successful candidate will oversee P&C and Operations at Rocksteady. This role sits at the heart of the studio, partnering closely with the Studio leadership team, department Directors and Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) stakeholders to ensure Rocksteady remains a high‑performing, inclusive and well‑run studio where people feel supported, motivated and able to do their best work.
Your Role Accountabilities
- Serve as the People and Culture lead for Rocksteady Studios, acting as the senior escalation point for complex P&C matters.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership and oversight to the P&C team.
- Maintain and continue to grow a high quality, efficient, professional and legally compliant P&C service – including line management responsibilities of the P&C Partner, P&C Coordinator and Operations Manager.
- Work to embed the studio values of collaboration, efficiency, quality, professionalism and treating people well.
- Work closely with senior leaders and WBD P&C to create, develop and successfully implement the Rocksteady P&C and Operations strategic plan.
- Design and deliver forward‑thinking People & Culture strategies with a strong focus on performance, inclusion, engagement and wellbeing.
- Advise, influence and coach leaders on high risk and complex people matters including employee relations, conflict resolution, performance management, disciplinary matters, organisational effectiveness, leadership behaviours, wellbeing and compliance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Studio leadership across the full game development lifecycle, ensuring people decisions support creative delivery while managing legal, contractual and reputational risk.
- Conduct surveys (including the WBD annual survey) to gauge cultural climate, wellbeing and engagement, translating insights into practical recommendations.
- Lead engagement, wellbeing and recognition initiatives that strengthen connection, motivation and retention, partnering with WBD Compensation & Benefits to deliver competitive, compliant and valued perks, incentives and wellbeing offerings.
- Partner with US and international Games People & Culture teams to align global practices, share best practice and deliver a consistent, integrated approach to Games P&C across territories.
- Partner with WBD central teams to align and leverage best practices around LOD, Inclusion, Compensation & Benefits, Business Continuity, Employment Legal and general P&C practices.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant industry bodies, charities and education partners aligned to Rocksteady’s values.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven P&C Director in an organisation circa 150 – 500 people.
- Proven ability to operate, influence and collaborate at all levels within the organisation, particularly senior management.
- Previous experience working within a functional matrix structure, effectively communicating to a variety of partners, decision‑makers, and interested parties.
- Thrives in a fast‑moving environment, navigating ambiguity and making well‑judged decisions where paths forward are not always clearly defined.
- Comfortable working both autonomously and as part of a highly collaborative, matrixed team across geographies and disciplines.
- Previous work in a creative business is a plus, but not essential.
Hybrid Working
This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in‑office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
