Your new role… As a Junior Technical Engineer, you will support Filmbankmedia’s technology team across software development, quality assurance and technical operations. Reporting directly to the Principal Software Architect, you will contribute to the evolution of our licensing platforms, develop applications and support the wider web ecosystem while helping to ensure a reliable experience for customers around the world. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys working across multiple technical disciplines and contributing to both product development and customer success.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Software Development: Design and implement clean, maintainable code for standalone applications and to support the core functionality of the platform, primarily in React and Next.js.
- Quality Assurance: Execute manual and automation testing suites to confirm platform stability, with an emphasis on building end-to-end tests with Playwright.
- Technical Customer Support: Serve as a primary technical contact for external customers to resolve complex issues with our licensing and distribution systems.
- Maintenance & Documentation: Help the Principal Architect in maintaining legacy systems and documenting technical workflows and support procedures.
- Continuous Learning: Keep up-to-date on modern web technologies and best practices in security to be able to contribute effectively in architectural discussions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a technical role with a strong emphasis on hands-on coding experience.
- Strong foundational knowledge of React and Next.js.
- Knowledge of other web-related technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript) and data storage technologies (ElasticSearch, MySQL) is beneficial.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach to QA. Experience with Playwright or a similar automated testing tool is beneficial, but strong knowledge of QA fundamentals is essential.
- Familiarity with basic networking, infrastructure or DevOps concepts. Knowledge of AWS is beneficial.
