Join our team at Heythrop Park, part of the Warner Hotels Group. This 311‑bedroom hotel with two theatres, a spa, and three restaurants is set within 440 acres of parkland in the heart of the Cotswolds.

Job Summary: The Greenkeeper is responsible for maintaining the golf course and surrounding grounds to a high standard of presentation and play‑ability. This includes mowing, turf care, irrigation, bunker maintenance, and general landscape upkeep. The role requires a passion for horticulture, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mow greens, tees, fairways, and roughs using hand and ride‑on mowers.
  • Maintain bunkers, including raking and edging.
  • Repair divots, ball marks, and other course wear and tear.
  • Operate and maintain irrigation systems, including manual watering and basic troubleshooting.
  • Apply fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides as directed.
  • Assist in aeration, top‑dressing, and turf renovation tasks.
  • Maintain golf course equipment and report any issues.
  • Monitor course conditions and report concerns to senior team.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Support preparation for tournaments and special events.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience in grounds maintenance or turf management preferred but not essential.
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Sports Turf Maintenance (or willingness to train).
  • Knowledge of safe equipment handling and basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions year‑round.
  • Team player with a proactive and flexible attitude.
