At Warner Hotels, we're looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to be responsible for the robust administration, security, and scalability of the Warner Hotels AWS environment. This role sits at the intersection of development and operations, building and maintaining the infrastructure pipelines, automating deployments, and ensuring that our cloud architecture remains cost‑effective, performant, and secure.

Cross‑functional responsibilities include:

  • CI/CD & Release Management: Design and optimise end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, reliable, and error‑free code deployments. Automate routine operational tasks and manual infrastructure provisioning to improve development velocity and reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).
  • Security & Compliance: Enforce security‑by‑design principles, including identity access management (IAM) least‑privilege policies, network security groups, and encryption‑at‑rest. Perform regular vulnerability scanning and manage automated patching cycles to maintain a secure cloud posture. Provide technical onboarding and standards guidance for partner teams.
  • Cost Optimization & Performance: Continuously audit cloud usage, utilising tools like AWS Cost Explorer and Compute Optimizer to eliminate waste and maximise ROI. Implement auto‑scaling strategies and right‑sizing policies to align infrastructure costs with actual business demand and transactional volume.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical bridge between architecture and development, providing clear documentation for infrastructure standards. Participate in incident response activities, providing technical root‑cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure‑related outages.

Expert‑level understanding of AWS core services (specifically Fargate, Lambda, S3, IAM, and Networking). Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation). Familiarity with scripting languages (Python or Bash) for automation. Understanding of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS). Ability to visualise and manage complex interdependencies in a cloud‑native environment.

Security‑Minded: A "security‑first" approach to all architectural and configuration decisions.

Problem‑Solver: Rapidly diagnoses and resolves infrastructure‑related bottlenecks or outages.

Collaborative: Effectively communicate technical architectural requirements to non‑technical stakeholders.

Experience & Education: 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles. AWS Professional or Associate level certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) preferred. Experience working in a production environment managing high‑traffic web or enterprise applications.
