Location: Based in Kingsbury, B77 1LT with occasional visits to Eastbourne and Newhaven sites; therefore, the ability to drive and own a car is essential.

As part of our ongoing Growth Plan, we are seeking to broaden our internal expertise with a newly scoped HR Officer role. This is a really exciting opportunity to be the first in-house HR Professional for this 90-person group of businesses. We are looking for someone to take full ownership of all HR processes and help us to continue to build a capable, high-performing team.
Providing a comprehensive generalist HR service to the business that ultimately delivers skilled, creative, motivated, flexible and committed employees. Working closely with Managers and Senior Leaders to enable business success, drive cultural change, deliver efficiencies and support people management and development.
We want you to evolve the HR function and service, deliver strategy/project work (including results of any external audit/gap analysis). Overall a hands-on role with the need to deliver key strategic projects in close collaboration with the MD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the induction of new employees into the organisation identifying training needs as and when appropriate.
- Ongoing review to ensure onboarding process provides the best employee experience.
- Discipline and grievance providing support to line managers and employees on company procedures.
- Answer day-to-day HR queries.
- Full administration of the starter/leaver process including drafting contractual documentation.
- Record, maintain and analyse absence data, taking/recommending action as required.
- Management and reporting of all exit interviews.
- Manage and support the end-to-end recruitment and selection process.
- Ensure enforcement of internal procedures and controls.
- Contribute to manpower/workforce planning in conjunction with MD and Senior Management.
- Identify, plan and evaluate training and development of staff in conjunction with operational managers.
- Mentor, counsel, coach and generally support those in the business who are not confident in their area of competence.
- Act as custodian to existing contractual and policy documentation and our online HR system.
- Collate data, perform data analysis and report on HR related KPIs.
- Ensure up to date with forthcoming employment legislation/regulation changes.
- Make recommendations for HR related business improvement ideas/initiatives and/or organisational change.
Qualifications & Experience (Essential):
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or CIPD level 5 qualified min (CIPD7 desirable).
- Minimum 3 years HR Generalist experience, ideally in a multi-site business.
- Strong Employee Relations/Employment Legislation.
- Competent in robust recruitment practices.
- Creating and delivering HR training and development.
