The Opportunity: We are seeking a proactive and skilled Lead Maintenance Engineer to oversee the maintenance operations at our Stone manufacturing facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production equipment and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate a small team in coordinating maintenance activities across mechanical, electrical, gas, and plumbing systems.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment faults promptly to minimize downtime.
- Implement preventive maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records.
- Carry out repairs and fabrication work.
- Work closely with outside contractors to co-ordinate repairs, obtain quotations and schedule routine PPMs.
- Collaborate with production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure completion of Compliance activities including LEVs, calibration, inspections etc.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies including producing risk assessments where required.
- Maintain and manage stock of spare parts whilst minimising cost.
- Clear record-keeping and calibration records using our in-house computer system.
Essential Criteria:
- Current and relevant Electrical Qualification/Certification 18th Edition essential.
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering Fabrication and welding, milling and turning.
- Strong aptitude for fault-finding in mechanical, electrical, gas, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willing to work beyond standard hours for critical breakdowns.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
- Gas Safety Certification (COCN1).
- Forklift Truck Driver or willing to learn.
