Established in Wardle, Martin Renewables Solutions Ltd (MRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin GmbH. Martin services the energy-from-waste (EfW) industry by providing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spare parts, engineering, design, consulting, modernisation, planning and general contracting services. In addition, it offers products for boiler systems as well as flue gas treatment, plant modernisation, equipment overhaul, repair & maintenance services. Martin has been serving the UK market for over 40 years and MRS will expand its support with its local presence.
This is a highly visible position for an enthusiastic engineer who has the desire to expand their knowledge base in the environmental field of EfW and MARTIN GmbH's detailed product line. Above anything, we are looking for someone who is open to learning new skills and experiences and adopting new approaches.
More about the opportunity:
You will come from an engineering discipline (ideally engineering, manufacturing engineering, electrical control & instrumentation) and will be trained over the course of approx. 12-18 months on Martin products. As we are a growing team, you must be adaptable and happy to help colleagues across the whole company. A hands-on deck approach will be required. Rest assured there are business plans to grow the team further to ensure we deliver to the customer at the highest possible standards; we have a reputation to maintain.
About the job itself:
This role will report directly into the Senior Field Service Engineer and will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of:
- Onsite installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Supervision of 3rd party contractor M&E work for Martin renewables.
- Planned and unplanned site service and support of Martin equipment.
- 24 hour response time from customer support request.
This is a strong customer-facing role, your main responsibility will be to provide a high level service to established plants mainly across the UK.
General Responsibilities:
- Train and gain experience across the range of Martin Group Technology (in-house onsite and overseas).
- Communicate regularly with the engineering team.
- Provide onsite and offsite technical support for client requirements and committed service contracts.
- Write and deliver equipment service reports for our clients.
- Conduct onsite services in a clear and professional manner. This may involve managing your own diary and effective time management, ensuring sufficient time is allocated to achieve the best quality outcomes.
- Comply with any internal policies on quality standards, housekeeping and Health & Safety.
- Involves travelling and/or temporarily residing at customer sites (expenses).
- To be able to work internationally for short periods from time to time.
- Expected to be available on a shared call out system.
- Ability and willingness to work some bank holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
Person Specification/qualifications:
- Engineering, maintenance and/or Field Service background is desirable.
- Electrical and mechanical qualifications (Apprenticeship trained to HNC/HND level preferred).
- Experience in commissioning projects.
- Process Industry experience.
- Excellent communication skills, including presenting technical information.
- Effective analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel extensively across the UK.
- Hold a valid Passport with the willingness to travel overseas.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite as well as the ability to learn and utilise new software systems.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety in industry.
- Strong desire for continued growth and learning.
