Your New Role... As the Audience Development Manager at CNN International Commercial (CNNIC), you will be responsible for driving audience acquisition, engagement, and retention for editorial and business-to-business commercial events, focusing on our new event series – Global Perspectives. You’ll ensure the right mix of industry professionals, top executives, entrepreneurs, and partners attend and engage meaningfully with our events, aligning audience strategy with editorial values and commercial goals.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Audience Strategy & Planning
    • Define audience personas and segmentation strategies aligned with event goals
    • Develop and manage audience acquisition plans across digital, social, email, and partner channels
    • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and audience & data teams to identify and target high-value prospects
  • Audience Acquisition & Engagement
    • Own the end-to-end audience journey from awareness to registration and attendance
    • Create compelling messaging and content tailored to audience segments and that reflect the tone of CNN
    • Leverage newsletters, social media, website placements, and partnerships to drive registrations
    • Monitor and optimize campaign performance to maximize registrations and attendance rates
  • Data & Insights
    • Analyse audience data to identify trends, behaviours, and opportunities
    • Maintain accurate records of audience engagement and conversion metrics
    • Use insights to refine future audience strategies and improve ROI
    • Coordinate with Audiences & Data team to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with editorial teams to ensure audience strategy aligns with content themes and speaker line‑ups
    • Partner with commercial teams to support sponsor goals through audience targeting and engagement
    • Partner with sponsors and speakers to leverage their networks for audience growth
  • Onsite & Post‑Event Engagement
    • Support onsite audience experience, including check‑in, and feedback collection
    • Analyse post‑event feedback to inform future programming and audience development
    • Develop post‑event engagement strategies to nurture leads and build long‑term relationships

Qualifications & Experience…

  • 3–5 years in audience‑focused roles within a news, media, or publishing organization
  • Proven experience managing live event audiences, including registration workflows, onsite engagement, and post‑event follow‑up.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR)
  • Ability to collaborate with editorial and production teams to deliver seamless audience experiences that reflect CNN’s journalistic values

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in‑office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
