Responsibilities
- Create English transcription and scripting deliverables, including Spotting Lists, English Dialogue Lists, Closed Captions (CCAP), English SDH, and English Templates.
- Use WBD‑approved in‑house tools to transcribe episodic, catalog, and internally approved content; listen to audio and video to accurately transcribe spoken dialogue, narration, and relevant audio cues.
- Capture required scripted events such as on‑screen text, speaker identification, on‑and‑off‑screen indicators, scene descriptions where applicable, and basic annotation including sensitive events; perform self‑review and proofreading to ensure transcripts are free of grammatical, spelling, punctuation, and formatting errors.
- Research names, terminology, locations, and references using approved sources; apply WBD formatting standards and templates consistently; escalate unclear audio or creative ambiguities to the appropriate reviewer; maintain confidentiality for sensitive or restricted content.
- Manage assigned workload; meet established deadlines; maintain required quality standards for accuracy and speed; coordinate with team members on daily assignments; use internal tracking tools for work queue management.
- Participate in quality assurance feedback cycles and coaching sessions and apply feedback to improve transcription accuracy, formatting, and efficiency.
- Support testing of new tools or workflows as directed; engage in ongoing training to develop technical competency and scripting knowledge; provide observations or feedback on tools and processes as appropriate or when requested.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions; work with the manager to review individual productivity and quality metrics; assist with basic reporting or data gathering as needed.
Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience in transcription, captioning, scripting, accessibility, timed text, or a related field.
- Experience using transcription, captioning, or subtitling software is required.
- Exposure to media, broadcast, streaming, or post‑production environments is preferred.
- Strong command of written English, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage, and excellent listening skills to accurately transcribe spoken content.
- Demonstrated attention to detail; the ability to follow established specifications and workflows; solid formatting and proofreading skills; research and fact‑checking ability.
- Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools is expected, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal peers.
- Ability to manage time and priorities in a deadline‑driven environment; adapt to changing production needs; learn new tools, systems, and technical processes.
- Typing speed of 60‑75 words per minute is preferred (not required).
Work Arrangement
Hybrid work model: combines remote and in‑office work, subject to applicable laws and company policy. Must agree with Line Manager; Company reserves right to change this arrangement where essential to business needs.
