Working within Post Production, the Dubbing Mixer is responsible for recording, tracklaying, sound-designing, mixing and delivering both long-form and short-form content across WBD's network channels and streaming platforms, as well as for internal and external business promotional content. The Dubbing Mixer will exhibit a high level of technical and creative input to ensure every audio session runs smoothly and that the output of those sessions is the best it can be both technically and creatively. They will create and deliver all necessary mixes, stems and elements from those sessions for transmission and any other purpose.
Your Role Accountabilities:
- Lead recording sessions with voice talent, producers and any other relevant stakeholders, creating a comfortable, supportive, effective and efficient environment for all on-site and remote collaborators and clients.
- Tracklay, sound-design, mix and deliver long-form and short-form content in a variety of languages, styles and genres using ProTools, associated plugins, SFX libraries and related audio systems and tools.
- Work with or without supervision or direction.
- Ensure all of WBD's workflow and operational procedures are followed.
- Ensure standard best practice is applied at all stages of the audio post-production process to guarantee the best quality output.
- Remain calm, creative and productive under pressure and against tight deadlines.
- Act as a liaison for creatives, producers, and other production stakeholders to ensure the correct media and materials are provided in advance of a recording or mixing session.
- Use clear and courteous communication to keep all parties well informed of each project's status and any issues that may arise.
- Work in tandem with Bookings, Edit Assistants, Editors, Department Management and others to deliver an exemplary service.
- Be prepared and ensure punctual session start times and adhere to all standard operating procedures and naming conventions.
- Ensure the adequacy of our audio suites, hardware and software by reporting any technical problems to the Post Production Engineering team and feeding back any issues to the Technical Operations Manager.
- Maintain QC standards of newly created materials.
- Maintain an impeccable attention to detail.
- Thoroughly and precisely carry out metadata entry and documentation tasks.
Qualifications:
- Proven capability in mixing, sound design, tracklaying and dialogue editing within a post-production facility or broadcaster.
- Previous experience leading client-attended mixing sessions.
- Experience of mixing both long-form and short-form content.
- Highly experienced in ProTools, its plugins – ideally Waves, RX, Nugen and Fab Filter – and associated audio hardware and software.
- Experience working with an S6 console.
- Previous experience recording VO and leading sessions with voice talent and production personnel.
- Experience with remote recording platforms such as SessionLinkPro.
- Experience mixing to EBU R128.
- Experience with mixing from and supplying full audio stems as well as creating mixes and stems from scratch.
- The ability to think laterally, to formulate creative solutions and workarounds when supplied materials or instructions may not fully meet necessary requirements.
- Ability to handle high pressure situations professionally.
- Knowledge of surround sound mixing techniques and workflows, including Dolby Atmos, would be a plus.
- Knowledge of standard audio media files, codecs and media file properties, including their impact on workflows and on the quality of the finished product.
Hybrid Working: This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
