Your New Role...Join WBD Sports as a Director and play a key role in delivering high-quality live and non-live sports coverage across a diverse multi-sport rights portfolio. Working across studio, remote and on-site productions, you will help shape the distinctive on-air look and feel of WBD Sports while ensuring outstanding editorial and production standards. Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Direct live and non-live productions across WBD Sports’ multi-sport portfolio, adapting editorial and technical approaches to a wide range of sporting events.
  • Cut multi-camera live and non-live studio shows.
  • Deliver live productions across studio, remote and on-site environments, adapting workflows to meet the editorial and operational requirements of each production.
  • Oversee, coordinate and support freelance directors and gallery crew on individual productions, ensuring consistent editorial standards and alignment with WBD Sports’ on-air output.
  • Maintain the look and feel of WBD Sports’ on-air presentation.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and operating systems relevant to sports broadcasting.
  • Collaborate closely with Producers and the Production Management team to plan and deliver events, while building and maintaining strong relationships with on-screen talent.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience as a live and non-live sports television director.
  • Strong understanding of the sports production process.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and support production teams in live broadcast environments.
  • Good working knowledge of vision mixing desks.
  • Current knowledge of broadcast technologies and production workflows.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
