Your New Role... Do you love storytelling through products, and are looking for your chance to be part of something truly magical? We have an exciting opening on our Buying team as our new Buyer, where your new role will be all about developing and selecting products for the official Harry Potter store. You will be working collaboratively with Merchandising and Design to build a customer-focused, commercial, and innovative global product assortment that is best in class from concept to exit.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Identify and develop commercial products that are suitable for our relevant global markets.
- Ability to review customer preferences and forecast trends in line with our global territories.
- Manage the topline critical path from concept to shipping, ensuring planned launch dates are met and managing any risk.
- Present and manage ranges throughout the sign-off process to the senior leadership team.
- Trade your categories with your merchandiser to minimise any threats, proactively maximise opportunities, including promotional and exit plans.
- Evaluate supply base - building strong working relationships with suppliers and working with compliance to source and onboard new suppliers where necessary to build a supplier strategy plan.
- Manage & develop your Assistant Buyer or Buyers Assistant (if applicable) - support on managing their workload and development.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and teams across the business such as Merchandising, Design, Ecommerce, Retail, Marketing, Compliance and Consumer Products across our global markets.
Qualifications & Experiences...
- Strong existing Buyer experience with previous Assistant Buyer or Junior Buyer experience.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office, including (but not limited to) Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A methodical, creative, numerical, and logical approach.
- Thorough knowledge of the Harry Potter Franchise and a clear understanding of our brand DNA.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to network and influence people.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
