At Warner Bros. Discovery, our People & Culture (P&C) team creates environments where people feel inspired, included and able to do their best work. This role sits at the heart of our Retail business at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter, where world‑class storytelling, spellbinding detail and unforgettable guest experiences come together every day. You’ll also partner with our wider UK Retail estate, including King’s Cross, Oxford Street (opening soon), the retail warehouse, and our ecommerce, buying & design and merchandising teams at Leavesden Park – helping ensure the people practices behind the scenes are just as strong as the stories told on screen.

Reporting to the Senior People Partner (Retail), you’ll be a hands‑on, visible People & Culture Partner, embedded in the day‑to‑day magic of retail. Working across multiple sites, from shopfloor to head office, you’ll build trusted relationships with leaders, understand challenges first‑hand and deliver practical, commercially focused people guidance. Excelling in fast‑moving, high‑volume environment, you’ll balance operational needs with longer‑term people initiatives. With curiosity, commercial awareness and a people‑first mindset, you’ll guide leaders through employee relations, change and growth – creating clarity, consistency and calm, even when it feels like the business has spun the Time‑Turner one too many times!

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Act as a trusted and strategic partner to Retail leaders, providing tailored, high‑touch advice.
  • Lead employee relations end to end, owning outcomes across sickness, absence, performance, conduct and grievances.
  • Build strong relationships through regular onsite engagement, working directly with managers to understand challenges and resolve issues in person.
  • Coach leaders on performance and capability conversations.
  • Lead and contribute to Retail and P&C projects, improving processes, and boosting employee engagement and wellbeing.
  • Facilitate organisational change, including new store openings and evolving ways of working.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and Retail leaders to support effective recruitment and workforce planning.
  • Oversee onboarding, helping new starters feel welcomed, supported and part of the story from day one.
  • Use people data and insight to inform pragmatic, commercially sound recommendations.
  • Advise on employment legislation and internal policies with a balanced approach.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience as a People/HR Partner within a retail or customer‑facing organisation.
  • Strong employee relations experience gained in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
  • Proven experience working with multi‑site or multi‑venue teams.
  • A clear understanding of the retail lifecycle, from shopfloor operations through to head‑office teams.
  • A hands‑on, approachable style, comfortable engaging directly with leaders and being present where the work happens.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to assess operational impact, risk and return on investment.
  • Experience contributing to retail change initiatives or store openings (desirable, not essential).
  • Data‑literate, with experience using insights or reporting to support decision‑making.
  • Confident systems user: experience with Workday and tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an advantage.
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
