Our recently opened Warlord Games Wigan store is not just a shop – it’s a hub for the hobby community. We’re currently recruiting for zero hours staff to support the North West Community Manager who runs the store and is responsible for building the hobby in the region. You’ll be helping in the store in busy periods as well as providing cover for when the Community Manager isn’t available.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional customer service to everyone who enters the store
  • Demonstrating how to play our games to new players
  • Teaching basic painting and modelling skills
  • Keeping the store clean and tidy, and well stocked
  • Expanding the store’s range of painted models and terrain
  • Organising and running hobby events
  • Assisting with opening and closing the store

Full training on all aspects of the job will be provided.

Key Requirements

  • You’ll need to be an outgoing and passionate champion of historical wargaming.
  • As well as providing brilliant customer service to everyone who walks in the store you’ll be engaging with hobbyists to understand their interests, helping them develop their skills and find the products to fuel their passion.
  • Previous retail experience isn’t necessary, but you’ll need to demonstrate an ability to interact positively with a range of people.
  • You don’t need to be the best painter or have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the rules or historical periods, but you do need to be driven to constantly improve your knowledge and skills, and to help other people do the same.
  • On top of the basics of keeping the store well stocked and clean, you'll help plan, organise and promote hobby events, so you’ll need to show initiative and have good personal organisation.
  • You may occasionally open or close the store so you’ll need to be reliable and trustworthy.
