Our vibrant secondary school is looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Catering Assistant to join our dedicated kitchen team. The Role
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in fueling our students and staff throughout the school day. This is a hands‑on position where your energy and positive attitude will help create a welcoming dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Food Prep: Undertaking basic food preparation tasks (chopping vegetables, assembling cold dishes, making sandwiches, finishing and setting out desserts, taking finished hot dishes from the ovens to set up for service).
- Service with a Smile: Serving meals to lively secondary school students and staff during busy break and lunch periods.
- Kitchen Hygiene: Maintaining high standards of cleanliness by washing up, operating the commercial dishwasher, and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas.
- Till Operation: Operating the cashless biometric catering system (training provided).
- Safety First: Following strict food safety and Health & Safety regulations.

Ideally, you will have:
- A friendly, approachable manner and the ability to communicate well with teenagers.
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure during peak lunchtime rushes.
- A strong commitment to teamwork, punctuality, and cleanliness.
- Desirable but not essential: A current Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (we will provide training if you don’t have one).
